Project Black and Gold Finalists
The final eight options for Project Black and Gold (submitted by students, mind you) are up for vote on myUMBC now through December 18th. They are as follows:
- “Be Proud, Be Bold, Be Black and Gold”
- “Black and Gold, Breaking the Mold”
- “Great Dogs Aren’t Just Born, They’re Bred”
- “In Dog Years, We’re almost 200!”
- “Raise The Ruff!”
- “Retrievers, Ruff and Ready!”
- “UMBC: Where Every Dog Has Its Day”
- “Woof!”
In keeping with the logo theme, what do you think of these slogans?

I’m voting for the option that makes us look the worst
I just want to know… how did “woof” make it to the “final 8″ unless there were only 8 or 9+ were offensive.
There can be no other way…
First two I guess are the best, with the second being my pick. EXCEPT that the top 5 will be placed around campus? Great… we’re gonna get stuck with one of the “ruff”s or “woof”…. ugh.
Slogan should have been: UMBC: apathy is best in Black and Gold!
Well, apathy until we get our chance to complain! So…
UMBC: complaining is best in black and gold?
I kinda like the apathy one more…
Maybe something a little less corny?
I was a big fan of the “tragedy of the commons” one..
Wow, these are all horrible and embarrassing.
Don’t look at me; I submitted, “Black in the Sack and Gold in the Bank.”
Oh my. This is a tragedy.
So… there were apparently 130-ish entries. How did “Woof!” make it in?
Seriously? How did they judge this?
Woof?
Come on.
THE FINEST IN COLD WAR ARCHITECTURE
either that or “UMBC: we’re riot proof!”
